More February Competitions

There are only a couple more months to submit your award winning pieces to this year's anthology. But there is a wonderfully infinite time to be submitting writing to competitions and pushing your work to suit different themes and word counts.

There's nothing quite like a deadline to get hearts pumping and fingers typing, so put these in your diaries and let's get productive.

Poetic Chrisiti Annual Poetry Competition

Poetic Christi are looking for poems of no more than 50 lines, about the theme 'interlude'. Think: journey, remission, silence, time out etc. This is a publication that aims to publish Australian poetry with a Christian ethos.

Entry: $7 per poem

Prizes: $300 first prize, $100 second prize

The Sheila Malady Short Story Competition

This competitions seeks to honour Shakespeare, his playfulness with words, his timeless characters, and his romance. Submit a short story of 2000 words, to the theme 'For the love of...' and participate in this wonderful way of remembering a great writer.

Entry: $5

Prizes: $300 first prize

2018 Bristol Short Story Competition

An international competition which is after short stories for their eleventh anthology.

Entry: £8

Prizes: £1000 first prize, £700 second prize, £400 third prize
