Northern Territory Literary Award: Dymock’s Arafura Short Story Award

The Northern Territory Literary Awards promote greater literacy by the ‘telling of stories’ that entertain, inspire and contribute to recognising literature’s importance to our identity, community and economy.

These stories help develop an appreciation of the many different cultures within the Northern Territory and strengthen our understanding of who we are.

The opportunities these awards bring to writers enable them to further develop their skills, gain recognition and build professional networks.

While the NT Literary Awards endeavour to cultivate a prosperous creative writing industry in the NT by recognising great talent, they also have a further aim of fostering and inspiring a new generation of writers.
