It’s an exciting time in the Melbourne Books office this week, we’ve finally received the 10th-anniversary edition of Award Winning Australian Writing hot off the presses. After all this hard work, it’s nice to finally hold the book in our hot little hands.

If you haven’t heard already, then the launch of our 2017 edition of Award Winning Australian Writing is on Wednesday 30 August at the Athenaeum Library from 6 – 7 pm. If you’d like to join us in the celebrations then just shoot through an email to email@example.com to let us know you’ll be attending and we’ll add you to the list.
There’s a lot happening this month with writing festivals, we hope those of you that went enjoyed the Byron Writers’ Festival last weekend.
Bendigo Writers’ Festival
There’s still time (albeit not much) to get your tickets to the Bendigo Writers’ Festival happening this weekend, 11–13 August. Hear from the likes of Leigh Hobbs, David Astle, John Safran, Susan Carland and many more. Get your tickets here.
Canberra Writers’ Festival
If you prefer to plan ahead a little bit, then you might consider trotting off to the Canberra Writers’ Festival, which is being held on 25–27 August. The festival headliners include names such as Kathy Lette, Tracey Spicer, Tony Jones, Samantha Shannon and Rutger Bregman as well as plenty more. Book your tickets here.
