Writers' Hub Weekly Update

13th July 2017

There's a lot happening in the Melbourne Books' office at the moment. We've finally sent the 10th Anniversary edition of Award Winning Australian Writing off to the printers and we're eagerly awaiting the day when we can hold the copies in our hands. While you wait for your own copy, here's what's happening in the writing world this week.

The Mildura Writers’ Festival is happening right now! For those lucky enough to be attending you’ll get to hear from writing greats such as Helen Garner, Les Murray, A.S. Patric, Gail Jones, Carrie Tiffany, Jason Porter (USA), Peter Boyle, Stephen Edgar, Natalie Harkin and Judith Beveridge.

For anyone hoping to submit to the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers’ Centre Ghost Story Competition, the deadline is tomorrow, so polish off those chilling tales and get your submissions in asap!

The Sisters in Crime 17th Davitt Awards shortlist has recently been announced. The award celebrates the best crime books written by Australian women in the judging period. No prize money is attached, but winners do receive a handsome carved wooden trophy.
